If you want to start the day with something healthy but can’t do without a good dose of coffee, I’ve got a solution for you. Make it a coffee smoothie.
Contrary to common believe, there is (sometimes) more on my breakfast table than coffee. Indeed, this past year, breakfast has become much more important to me, and I am now regularly whipping up some scrambled eggs, or even make my own bread for breakfast. Occasionally, it might be something on the sweet side too, like these awesome Ensaimadas which I made a few times this year.

A more healthy addition are smoothies. Although I have to confess, I am still not fully into this trend.
I am getting better at it, however since I have discovered coffee smoothies. They are an awesome way to kick off the day with something healthy yet still providing me with this well needed morning caffeine kick.

If you now wonder how to make a coffee smoothie, well that’s actually fairly simple. All you need is some cold coffee or better yet espresso, which will be added to your morning smoothie.
Below, I have listed my top three smoothies made with coffee.
If you want to use regular black coffee instead of espresso, just swap the espresso with a regular cup of coffee.
Banana Coffee Smoothie

3 medium bananas
100 ml milk
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup espresso
Add bananas, milk and cinnamon into a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour into a glass and add the espresso.
Mango Coffee Smoothie

1 ripe mango
150 ml milk
60 ml plain yoghurt
1 cup espresso
Add mango, milk and yoghurt into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass, than add the espresso.
Watermelon Coffee Smoothie

¼ of a watermelon
juice of ½ a lime
1 espresso
Eliminate the seeds of the watermelon and cut into pieces. Add watermelon and lime juice into a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour into a glass and add espresso.
