Happy National Bubbly Day! If like me, you love champagne than you live in exciting times. The choice of excellent sparkling wines has never been broader than today. Many wine regions around the world now make high quality sparkling wines according to the traditional (champagne) method, rivalling the quality of champagne. But they will cost only a fraction.

HOW TO APERITIVO LIKE THE ITALIANS DO

There is more to the Algarve than the famous stunning rugged coastline and beautiful beaches. Just few kilometres from the coast, a still largely unknown exciting wine region awaits to be discoverd.

Still in love with this beautiful gem towering on the rocks over Praia de Rocha beach at Partimao in the Algarve in Portugal. It is the perfect hideaway if like me you love the beach, small charming hotels with flawless service and outstanding dining options. I look forward returning for another trip exploring the nearby Algarve wineries, and hopefully better weather to get the chance to enjoy some downtime at the stunning pool area.

COCKTAIL OF THE DAY - Like so many delicious famous foods and drinks, the classic Sgroppino al Limone was invented in Venice in the 16th century. Made with lemon sorbet, vodka and topped with Prosecco, it's a wonderful, refreshing and stylish after-dinner drink on many occassions but it's most obviously perfect for the warmer summer days ahead.

Family-owned Cabrita Wines in the Algarve in the south of Portugal traces ist roots back to owner José Manuel Cabrita's father who half a centruy ago planted vineyards alongside the family's fruit trade business. Wines were originally made for family and friends until in 2007 the first bottles under the Cabrita brand were released to the public.
